O Instituto Ibietê, fundado em 2016 , iniciou sua trajetória com o sonho de criar um parque ecológico no sítio Santo Antônio em Marechal Floriano, Espírito Santo .
José Luiz Sudré, proprietário do sítio, possui um lindo acervo de plantas e árvores além de um maravilhoso trabalho de mais de 30 anos de reflorestamento do terreno com diversas espécies nativas da Mata Atlântica, atraindo diversas espécies de animais e pássaros .
Essa experiência positiva inspirou Shawã Shiva (Thiago Sudré), seu filho, a propor a criação do Instituto Ibietê, visando compartilhar as riquezas naturais e os conhecimentos sobre sustentabilidade .
O nome "Ibietê", oriundo do tupi-guarani, significa "terra honrada e sincera" , refletindo a missão do Instituto.
Nos anos seguintes, o Ibietê deu início a sua atuação com Educação Ambiental, Reflorestamento, Programas Ambientais e Ecoturismo . Em 2017, as atividades de reflorestamento continuaram a todo vapor , e em 2018, nasceu a primeira comunidade Ibietê, com o início das obras de bioconstrução .
O lançamento do Programa Repense em 2019 e a implementação dos retiros de autoconhecimento em 2020 expandiram as ações do Instituto. Com o início dos programas de residência em 2022 , o Ibietê aprofundou a experiência de comunidade e conexão com a natureza.
Em 2024 , o Ibietê deu um salto significativo com a concepção e lançamento do seu novo planejamento estratégico: os “Caminhos da Ecoconsciência” , a formação dos Guardiões da Terra (agentes de transformação global), e o lançamento da comunidade online Eco.Ibietê . Essa nova fase representa uma transição de um projeto local para um movimento global, ultrapassando as fronteiras do sítio Santo Antônio e da estrutura familiar, abrindo-se para uma atuação mais ampla na internet com uma comunidade virtual.
A nova missão do Instituto, centrada na integração entre educação online, engajamento digital e comunidades físicas sustentáveis , demonstra essa transformação. Os "Caminhos da Ecoconsciência" (Ecoar, MudaMundo, Bem Viver, Raízes Ancestrais, UniVidas, Circularize, Expressões do Ser, e Sementes do Amanhã) - oferecem diferentes percursos para uma vida mais sustentável e regenerativa.
O Ibietê, portanto, evoluiu de um projeto de reflorestamento para um centro de educação, pesquisa e ação para a sustentabilidade em escala global, integrando o físico e o digital para impactar um número cada vez maior de pessoas.
